Colonel Schwartz brings to Bailey & Galyen many years of experience in the legal representation of people and business interests before state and federal courts nationwide. He has emphasized and limits his practice areas to consumer and business class actions, the economic field of antitrust and trade regulations and the relatively new area of civil RICO (Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations).
Serving more than 28 years of enlisted and commissioned service in the U.S. Air Force, Colonel Schwartz has a background in intelligence analysis and as a Judge Advocate, prosecutor, defense counsel and Certified Military Trial Judge. He continues to serve as a Houston based volunteer for the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis) in the capacity of an academy information officer (commonly known as a Blue and Gold officer) assisting candidates seeking appointment to the USNA as well as the other service academies.
He teaches trial advocacy to lawyers as a member of the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and is an adjunct professor of law teaching antitrust and trade regulation courses for advanced law students while also serving as a frequent continuing legal education lecturer and author for the ABA, Texas and Florida bars.
Colonel Schwartz, an amateur military historian, has authored articles in what's known as Alternative History; the what if of events in U.S. military history. He is a founder and director of the American Inns of Court program in Houston and is a speaker to civic groups on the topic of the current issues of military law and terrorist detainees. He proudly serves the community as member of the Board of Directors of Be an Angel Foundation, a charity dedicated to the learning needs and welfare of profoundly deaf and disabled children.
At Bailey & Galyen, Colonel Schwartz applies his extensive legal background, training and experience in the interests of clients who present issues for litigation and resolution in his areas of practice.
